Mini First Aid was founded in January 2014 by mum of six, Kate Ball, with a mission to deliver high-quality baby and child first aid classes to parents and carers. Since then, the business has grown rapidly and now trains over 2,000 people every week across the UK in basic and life-saving first aid.
Our multi award-winning classes are designed to be relaxed, accessible, and confidence-boosting - giving you the knowledge and skills to act in a medical emergency. We offer sessions for the whole family, including parents, grandparents, carers, and even children as young as three.
In 2021, Kate and her husband Matt appeared on Dragons’ Den and secured investment from Sara Davies MBE. Since then, Mini First Aid has continued to expand, including the development of our own range of brilliant first aid products, now stocked in major retailers.
Mini First Aid classes are CPD-accredited, and we are proud members of the First Aid Industry Body. We also provide a comprehensive range of certified first aid courses for those needing formal qualifications. As the UK’s leading provider of paediatric first aid, we are passionate about empowering families and professionals alike with essential first aid skills.
Hello, I’m Katy. I am a Mum to 2 young children - Rafferty (3) and Lilah (1). I’ve been a nurse for 20 years, working most recently as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Despite being trained and experienced in emergency care, being a Mum has highlighted to me the value of basic first aid knowledge and how it helps to be able to stay calm and manage situations which arise in every day life. Working in urgent care and seeing how the outcome for sick and injured children can be so dependent on how appropriately and quickly they were helped at home, gave me the inspiration to become a children’s first aid trainer. My goal is to teach as many parents, grandparents, carers, and children themselves, how to provide good quality first aid so everyone stands the best chance of recovery. As a working Mum I understand how busy life can be, but I do believe a priority for every parent should be to learn how to help their child when they need it most.
Hi, I'm Claire and mum to two little ones who keep me on my toes! I am also a children's nurse, with experience in school nursing. I attended a Mini First Aid Baby and Child class with my partner, when my daughter was just 8 weeks old and found it to be so reassuring. I understand the worry that can come with being a parent and the importance of knowing what to do when accidents happen. It is lovely to now be joining the team and giving parents and carers confidence to provide first aid to their little ones.
Hi! I'm Gemma, mum to two little ones, Eden (3) and Alma (2). I joined the 2-hour baby and child first aid course last year which hugely helped my confidence and awareness in helping my (very!) accident-prone toddlers when they hurt themselves or are poorly. I realised I had only scratched the surface in terms of training and knowledge and wanted to not only learn more myself but inform others too. I know how much my partner and I have benefited from learning first aid, and I love teaching others and hopefully helping them feel more confident in situations where first aid skills come into play.
